  1. Daphne,
I have looked through so many of these links-
I am in awe of your talent.
Thanks for sharing – and keep em coming.

  2. Hi Chris…Thank you very much for being so encouraging! I really appreciate it. I hope you keep the paintings coming too! As I have mentioned before, I think your cinematography work is extremely beautiful and it amazes me.

  3. Daphne,

Beyond words. I do not want to do any injustice to your incredible talent and accomplishments by using inadequate adjectives. In law we have a Latin expression res ipse loquitur, the thing speaks for itself. Applicable here.

Love the images of Portugal and Jamaica. Like the drunkard detail of one hand on the clock. I am probably biased toward that detail being a watch collector and having a work by Dahli with a clock, detailing hands also.

Congratulations also on your beautifully designed website.

Vedo che hai vissuto in Italia. Parla italiano ancora o hai dimenticato molto. Auguri.

    Ci parliamo presto.

ps no teasing me about my website, auto created recently on godaddy.com until a pro helps me and I move up on the google ‘add words’ list.

  4. Hi, Daphne —
I share your affection for these monuments to the ingenuity of Californians of a time before electricity and water mains. Indeed, I’ll be publishing a book soon on them (TANKHOUSE: California’s Redwood Water Towers From a Bygone Era) at Barn Owl Press. I find it’s devilishly difficult to do with a camera what your paintings do with such tender elegance: take us back to those early days.
    Thanks for a beautiful website.

PS there are a few tankhouses from Solano County in the book, but none of the ones you’ve painted.

  5. Daphne, Your tank house paintings are beautiful! Are they on display anywhere in WineCountry? Are you available for commissioning tank house paintings? I agree with Tom Cooper’s comments. Your paitings evoke the nostalgic romanticism of that bygone era more than even the best photos. If possible, please let Tom Cooper know I’ve been trying to ‘find’ him, to get his blog site URL and also see if his book is for sale anywhere locally in Sonoma County. Thanks so much! Kim

  6. Hi, Kim! Thanks for your interest!
My email address is TankhouseTom@gmail.com. The book’s site is https://sites.google.com/site/tankhousetomsplace/tankhouse.
    The blog is at https://sites.google.com/site/thebarnowlpresspage.
Yes, the book is available at most if not all bookstores in Sonoma County.
Best wishes to both you and Daphne,
    Tom C
